London has retained its position at the top of the QS Best Student Cities Ranking, while Tokyo has climbed up the list to take second place.
The QS Best Student Cities, now in its 11th edition, ranks 160 cities with a population of at least 200,000 and with two universities in the QS World University Rankings. The city list is based on a methodology including feedback from students and graduates, university quality, student mix, cost of living and employer activity.
London held the top spot for the fourth consecutive year, while Tokyo rose from seventh in the 2023 rankings to second in the 2024 edition, leapfrogging its Asian neighbour Seoul. The top five was completed by Melbourne and Munich, which were followed by Paris, Sydney, Berlin and Zurich.
